Job Description
The Expeditor role is a critical function within Tech Ops Supply Chain Organization and the Supplier Management department. A challenging and highly visible position that is the initial point of contact for the expeditious return of component orders into stock to support American Airlines fleet requirements.
This fast pace role actively supports these requirements by interfacing both internally and externally to ensure component orders are expedited from the supplier into stock based on level of criticality.
This will include working within the MRP system (DECs, SAP, and SCEPTRE) to gather information, providing system updates, utilizing Excel to create visibility & status reporting as well as direct visibility with Sr. Leadership.
In terms of career advancement this position generally leads to opportunities at the Commodity Manager level based on self-motivation, longevity and work ethic.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Coordinate directly with outside suppliers to expedite the return of aircraft components as required to support the company’s day to day material objectives
· Expedite AOG orders as required
· Communicate overdue orders to suppliers
· Read maintenance/delivery schedules & inventory reports to determine priority of materials required
· Provide shipping and delivery information to all necessary workgroups
· Update FMR or log pages with current delivery information
· Assist Commodity Managers to obtain quotations and Purchase Order status
· Work with internal departments as well as suppliers to correct any discrepancies in shipping, invoicing, quality, and part number & quantity mismatches
Required Qualifications, Skills & Abilities
• Associates Degree or higher
• Knowledge & functionality in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, & PowerPoint
· Strong written and oral communication skills
· Good analytical and proactive problem resolution ability
· Ability to think “outside of the box”
· Possess innovative thinking skills with a high degree of motivation
· Ability to manage multiple tasks while dealing with disruptions and change
· Work in a faced paced environment

Desired Qualifications, Skills & Abilities
· Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Logistics Management, Supply Chain or Finance preferred
· At least 1 year in warehouse or expeditor role, or similar Supply Chain experience preferred
· SCEPTRE, SAP or APPICS DECs experience
